The Foundation was honored for workforce development efforts in Tennessee.

The Turner Construction 6686ÌåÓý¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Foundation is honored to be recognized as a DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant recipient. The grant recognizes the Skill Builders Program in Tennessee which is part of Turner’s and the Turner Foundation’s commitment to workforce development efforts across the United States.

With an estimated 500,000 open construction jobs unfilled, DEWALT’s Grow the Trades Grants aim to help close the skilled labor gap by supporting nonprofit organizations that are skilling, reskilling and upskilling tradespeople. Each year, the program awards funding and tool donations as part of a larger $30 million commitment over five years to close the skilled trades gap. 

The Turner Construction 6686ÌåÓý¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Foundation was selected as one of 166 organizations that are providing great accessibility and resources for trades training. The Skill Builders Program is a strategic collaboration between Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology Nashville, Turner Construction 6686ÌåÓý¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú, Metro Nashville Public Schools, PENCIL, and the Tennessee Titans to advance vocational skills training and fuel the growth of trade careers. This program aims to impact over 40,000 students by offering critical certifications, training, and resources.

This recognition reinforces our commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive workforce for the construction industry,” said Christa Andresky, Turner Construction 6686ÌåÓý¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Foundation Board Member. “By investing in training and development, we can help close the skills gap and create lasting opportunities for individuals in the communities where we work. Together with our partners, Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology and DEWALT, we are helping to ensure the future of the trades is diverse, skilled, and ready to meet the challenges ahead."

The donation will be directed toward a number of efforts that align with the Foundation’s Pillars: active caring, workforce readiness, and inclusion.
